Hi,
I have an amplifier with ATF-36077 JFET transistor. Is it possible to know which method is correct to bias the transistor?
1) First give a -0.1 V to the gate of the transistor and then slowly increase the Vdd voltage up to 1.5V
2) First give a -2 V to gate then give 1.5 V to Vdd and then slowly increase gate voltage from -2.5 to -0.1 V?
Thanks a lot!

2) sounds ok to me but 1) may be useful for outtput I-V charateristics.
Hey,
Thanks for the reply. Can method 1) damage my Transistor?
You should go the conservative way (method 2) because you don't know what is the Vp 10% and Vgs 10mA of your transistor. Once you know your Vp 10% and your Vgs 10mA then have it any way you want.
ATF-36077 is not a JFET, is a P-HEMT.
