rf amplifier
Hi allan681,
This can't be described in one or two words, because there are many
things open: which gain do you need, what noise figure is acceptable, ...
A good idea is that you take a look at the homepages of rf-device
manufacturers. This could be infineon, philips, agilent, ... They often have
application notes for their products.
Another possibility is to use a single-chip amplifier (e.g. ABA52563 from
Agilent, look at http://literature.agilent.com/litweb...988-9468EN.pdf)
this is much more easy if you are not as familar with building RF devices.

Hi mr_ghz,
I want design this single-chip amplifier using replace @gilent's INA-02170/INA-03170.Can you give me some information how to design
this single-chip amplifier ?
Bye
As I saw that the bandwith is very wide. For a robust and consistent design
some important parameters must be carried out carefully Which are
- All-over band stability
- Minimum Noise figure Design (so , this kind of design may not give Min. NF and Gain or Reflection at the same time due to Min NF Gamma is generally differs from good reflection))
- Feedback ( series and parallel , at the same time ) is a MUST!
- IP3 behaviour ( this is also important for adjacent channels or disturbing signals )
I think transistor based designs are better or if you haven't time to design , CEL ( California Eastern Lab ) or more professional companies produce very low noise and very wide band amplifiers but they are quite expensive reagrding to application area ( military or commercial ) and performance.
But If I were you , I'd design with discretes .. since it becomes nice work for you.. :)
Good Luck
I think it difficult to design a match circuit in this too wideband .
one good choice is use some RFIC,not waste time and not very high price.
But LNA is often use in frontend ,why used it in
IF?
maybe a common broadband AMP is enough.
Hi allan681,
INA-02170 and INA-03170 both are obsolete parts. There exist many
replacement products from agilent. Most of them include an application
note with layout and measurements.
Bye
HI mr_ghz
Can you some replacement products for INA-02170 and INA-03170 ?
Bye
take a look at agilent web site
http://www.semiconductor.agilent.com.../home/home.jsp
you will find many
the is an EXAMPLE OF ANSOFT DESIGNER
ON THE ANSOFT OFFICIAL WEBSITE .
As I know ,you can simulate at ADS
before you do it .
I think it difficult to design a match circuit in this too wideband .
Befor you matching & simulation , you still need to get a chip or die .
@gilent got many MMIC , frequency from 0.1~6 GHz , only thing you need to do is add a inductor & resistor .
There are many many manufacturers of these types of amplifiers!
Why not check http://www.minicircuits.com/amplifie.html or look at
http://www.sirenza.com/products/prod...e=Gain%20Block
You should be able to find something that really fit your needs!

Form the view of the bandwidth, it is cifficult to complete the LNA with both NF and VSWR.
Can U tell the parameters U want in detail ?
NF, Gain, IP3, VSWR, etc.
