Do you solve the pressurization in waveguide systems?
Do you solve the pressurization in waveguide systems for rotating.
I only know one method;seals. It's possible to apply them.
But I don't have experiance of using.
In this case, is seal special or standard product?
How to apply it to our waveguide systems?
Please, explain seal.
Thank you.
Waveguide should be flanged with an appropriate type of flange, to be hermetic, the flanges should carry an O-ring gastek, the O-ring is placed near the periphery, after electrical contact.
At the end of the line a "window" is placed. The window is uwave transparent but "opaque" to gas. Many types of windows exists, some are robust, thick quartz or ceramic (but resonant) , while others are the thinnest possible, low εr, mylar or kapton or PTFE or PE made.
Gas is usually Hexasulfure, it's non toxic, arc resistant dielectric. Used Pressure span over a wide range, someone use also low pressure (less than 1Kg/cm^2).
But don't hope to fill and go! A dinamic refill (bottle and pressure reducer) is often required.
RF chockes are widely used, both for waveguide rectangular flanges and (mainly) on the rotating joint.
... of course... don't look inside the waveguide if power is applied
