what is RF amplifier?
I am a newbie in RF, and want to know what is the difference between normal opamp and RF amplifier. To construct a power amplifier after antenna, must i use an RF amplifier at 433 mhz? If yes, please recommend a few model.
Thanks.

have many RF project and if you want make a RF power
amplifier look about RF Device Data Vol. I and II from Motorola, I have it but in
paper.

An amplifer is an amplifier not matter what frequency. It essence
an op-amp is not difference than an RF amplifier. When you use
a single transistor it does not have a differencial input but still is
a feedback type of amplifier. What happen is: in high frequency the
capacitance between output and input creates a feedback that render
the opamp unuseful. The RF transistor correct that in some way.
Nowdays, there are opamp working up to 1Ghz but
they still very expensive compared to a single transistor(FET, etc).
Thanks for all your reply.
If not using RF amplifier, could I put a class A amplifier just after the antenna to increase the receive sensitivity? I am using a similar circuit as in the following link http://www.zen22142.zen.co.uk/Circuits/rf/uhfpreamp.htm
Thanks.

No luck.
Is TSH690 of STMicroelctronics suitable?
I would like to construct a power amplifier for a AM receiver. The building block sequence would be Antenna---->BPF--->PA--->Envelop detector--->Comparator.
Would this work?
Please help on this issue.
Thanks.

I would like to use some low current substitutes for TSH690. Anyone recommend?
I googled '40MHz to 1GHz AMPLIFIER', but not found.
Maxim, national, linear dont have either.
Seems only ST doing this, am i right?
