Transistor for switch purpose

Could any expert advise the transistor selection for switch purpose.
Should I choose BJT or MOS ? What's the character btw them for
switch purpose. Thanks.

For voltage greater than 300V-400V it is better to use BJT or IGBT transistors.
otherwise MOSFET is better, it is faster and simple to drive.
