Super FM Receiver
I am trying to build a fully digital FM Receiver which has digital signal processing and the frequency of the station can be displayed on an HD44780 Alphanumeric Display Module through a AT89S52 micro and can be selected through a keyboard. For example if a radio station is at 102.5 MHz can I enter 102.5 through a keyboard and the radio can tune to it?
(Pleeeeeease)3 Help Meeeeeeee out !!
The normal way of making an FM receiver with digital frequency control is to make a superhetrodyne receiver that generates the local oscillator signal using a PLL. The frequency generated by the PLL is set by binary values in the programmable divider. Read some books about radio communications.
Making a fully digital broadcast FM receiver will be difficult, require some expensive ic's and probably won't work as well as an analog receiver. To not have any analog parts you would have to put the signal from the antenna direct into an ADC. You will need an ADC that can do at least 250Msample/sec and a powerfull DSP.

But I want a philips IC!
Ok, Can you please give me a hybrid FM Receiver that has analog as well as digital counterparts?
