I am running noise simulation and it indicates that some of the major noise contribution comes from various s-parameter models in my circuit. How does spectre calculate the noise of those models? Technically s-parameter model does not contain any information about noise.
Hi
One way:
passive n-port has voltage noise matrix v=2*k*T*(z+conj(z))
z-is impedance matrix
z can be obtained from s matrix
another way
matrix of noise powers c=(I-S*S')*k*T where ' is transpose and conj
T is Kelvin temperature
k is boltzmann
This is common theory for noise of linear passives
Regards
If the S parameter model doesn?t contain ANY noise data would be impossible to calculate the real noise of the device.
Yes, If device is passive device
The simplest example is resistor
