difference between RF and RFIC
Hi,
RF and MIC's brought a revolution in the RF/microwave industry because they have made the concept of a microwave system on a chip a reality. For what i know there's a two classes of MIC, the Monolithic and the Hybrid. The latter can be subdivided into standard and miniature
MMIC's - All active and passive element as well as trans line are form into the bulk or onto the surface of the susbstance by some deposition such as epitaxy, ion implantation, sputtering, evaporation or diffusion.
HMIC's - Type of circuit in which solid state and passive are bonded to a dialectric substrate, both lumped(multi-level deposition) and distributed(single-level metallization process) are fabricated by TFT.
Goodluck...
RF--- radio frequency... just frequency.....
number of antennas, resonator n other things are there which radiate and deal with radio frequency but of very big size....
RFIC
all those big size materials which deal with radio frequency are made very small in the form of small integrated circuits..... this circuit is RFIC...
RF and RFIC as others have pointed out.
MMICs are circuits operating at microwave frequencies with the matching networks and transistors on the same die.
