Resource for designing a wideband antenna covering the range from 50 MHz to 4 GHz
I need to design a wide band antenna covering the range from 50 meg to 4 Ghz.
I searched alot and I found some people talk about active antennas wipe or telescopic . Also they divide the band in two regions or more.
I also found a magic one but its details are not published called "fractal antenna"
I need the antenna to be in small size as possible.
I appreciate if any one here could help
Thanks

Haytham
hi Haytham,
i suppose the UWB antenna, fractal UWB antenna being one of its type, are suitable for you.
i don't know what other requirements are needed for the design.
hi haytham,
I Think u can go for Sierpinski Multiband fractal antenna.
With this i've attached a paper regarding Sierpinski Multiband fractal antenna.
I think it'll help u.
hi
balaguru thavamani : no paper is attached
would u plz attach it again
DrunkBear : I would be gratful if you have details on how to design a fractal antenna

I couldnt able to upload because its already uploaded in this forum.
Paper detail is
On the behavior of the Sierpinski multiband fractal antenna

Summary:The multiband behavior of the fractal
hi haytham,
i suppose you could get ABC about it and could try to design one after you read some papers about fractal antenna(as what balaguru thavamani suggested, e.g)
good luck!
Hi guy
I think fractal are multiband antennas but never been designed for such a long wideband range, although they are good enough for multiband systems.
I think u need to think a simple circular disk monopole will be a good choice in you case.
Hi snkhan
Would you please help me with more details about circular disk monopole.
If you have some design papers, it would be great

Haytham
