Wideband FET switch topologies

Hi, I'm a lapsed electronics engineer who writes software these days, and mostly did DSP and digital hardware back in the day, but I have been inspired to get my analog on! I have a question that I'm hoping you folks can help with. I seem to remember one could use FETs as analog switches - what circuit topology would be used for wideband and what frequency range would be achievable with discretes? are there any good places I could read up on this?

Thanks,
Rob

Speed of analog switches can be specified in different regard, speed of switched signals and switching speed. Depending on the application the first or both matters.

A common topology is series/shunt SPDT connection using FETs.

With discrete components you can get about 30dB isolation up to few hundred MHz, depending very much by the PCB layout design.

Hi - Your link to the qsl website came through fine, however the CiteSeerX link brought up this inexplicable message (even though I am not a member):

"You have exceeded your daily download allowance".

I don't know, the citeseerx link works fine for me. Anyway, here is the link to the file directly from Plextek.
