In this post, few tutorials regarding design of VCO is discussed. See the tutorial uploaded by BOY. he has explained how to create nonlinear model of varactor & use to make VCO.
Every one uses ADS in designing & tool used is Oscitest.
That is what i understand from that tut.
What is its advantages and drawback if we compare it to Ansft HFSS V9 or V10 ?
Ansoft HFSS is just 3D EM simulator , but ADS is a complete design package from circuit simulation to layout to 2.5 D em simulation
u can compare ansoft designer to ADS , but sure ADS more powerful

The advantage & drawbacks depends on Application.
What you want to design?
In fact I'm confusing when choosing between ADS, HFSS and Cadence Virtuoso/Eldo/Artist for the design of a VCO and next a PLL.
HFSS is 3D em simulator for passive devices only
ADS and ansoft Designer best for board level RF circuits
Virtuose , ELDO for RFIC on CMOS and so on
