Hi , there,
I wonder these two terms are identical ? am I right ?
If true, then why one is called pole and the other is called zero ?
If i am wrong? Can anyone here tell me the difference between these terms?
TIA

The simple answer is that the attenuation is the reciproque of the transfer function. If expressed in dB, this means a S21 of -6 dB is equivalent to 6 dB attenuation.
Same story goes for poles and zeroes: (1/ the transfer function ) turns poles into zeroes and vice versa.
Thank you radiohead
SO these two terms are identical, and i can use them interchangably.
I don't think they are identical. They are implanted in a filter or diplexer by completly different ways.
correct me if I m wrong
