circuit for de-embedding
I'm going to measure a LNA on PC board (without matching networks and with it) at freq up to 20GHz.
Can somebody give me a circuit (in ADS or cadence etc) to calculate actual device S-parameters with S-par files of measured device and TRL cal standarts on the PC boards?
Thanks for reply!
Maybe this will help to understand what I want. Here a circuit for de-embedding of an inductor parameters in Ansoft Nexxim. I'd like to have similar circuit for TRL or SOLT 2-port de-embedding in cadence or ADS.
As far as I know, it is not very difficult to do an acceptable de-embedding, esp., for single-end situation. Since the measurement of active devices is more immune to errors compared with that of the passive, like inductors. But if you want to do the de-embedding very accurately, you need to get the information of the metal traces on PCB and the bonding wires between pads on PCB and on die. Then you can use softwares like ADS or Microwave Office to make it.
I'd like to do this in ADS for thorough understanding of the de-embedding process and to find out possible accuracy with de-embedding. In other words I wanna do measurement virtually in ADS (with cal stand) to get some expiriens.
