Need to know Some basics about RF
could someone give me a brief idea about this.
1. I want to communicate between two device which are about say 100metres apart. What technology should i use. (Excluding GSM)
2. What is the difference between
- Low power RF
- Wi-Fi
- Bluetooth
- Zigbee
Is it possible to implement those discretely.
3. Can Low power RF chips like TI CCXXXX can be used for 100mtrs?
If not, what is the next solution.
Thanks and Regards,
is this a marketing strategy ?
you can select TI cc4432 for your project
Thank you.
but..

hi,
ur question is v general
plz b more specific
bluetooth, zigbee are far different...
for ex
what is the application, nature of th data
the band width ....
thanx
Thanks for the response.
Application is to collect data from energy meters which are in area of about 100meters.
The data has to be collected using a handheld device which uses a microcontroller.
There is NO Line of sight.
what could be the best solution for this.?
I am just getting some basic info about RF. But will be helpful if someone get my path right.
pl let me know if its not still clear...
Regards,
th best solution for sensors dac ... to use zigbee
because low data rate nd low power consumption nd 100 m coverage is guranteed :)
i think we used Freescale’s ZigBee Modules MC13192
Despite of many votes for 2.4 GHz and ZigBee technology, you should consider also this points:
- wireless meter reading is basically a low data rate, and a simple master-slave application. It doesn't need many features provided
by ZigBee and similar
- electromagnetic wave transmission inside a building is better at lower frequencies
- the M-Bus standard has already a specification for 870 MHz wireless transmission (EN 13757-4).
Also if you want to design your own protocl layer, TI CC1xxx or sub GHz transceivers from other manufacturers, e.g. Hope
RF are an interesting option in my opinion..
FvM, that was a very much valuable response. Appreciate it.
I'll do some homework on this and get back.
FvM, do you have that standard EN13757 - 4 pdf or something.?
