measure scattered field hfss

hi everyone... can someone explain how to directly measure scattered E field. I am using hertzian dipole for excitation and measuring E filed on a line at a distance apart.

1) Make sure scattered fields are selected HFSS -> Fields -> Edit Sources.

2) Draw your polyline.

3) Insert a new field report. Under "Geometry" on the left, select your line. Then plot your desired field.

also if i now use a drawn dipole antenna i do not get the option of scattered E field in HFSS -> Fields -> Edit Sources.
i am using lumped port

No idea, try changing your messing parameters.

Lumped ports and wave ports don't use the total field/scattered field approach.
