L BAND ANTENNA

Hi,

I need a design for omi direction antenna for 1250mhz - 1300mhz with gain of 10db or more. Any software to calculate the practical lengths of antenna arms.

Regards.

Rehan

Unless you want to make a turnstyle 14 or so layers high, the usual way is to use directional antennas pointed around a circle and phase them together.

Being a planar antenna designer, I can suggest you a microstrip antenna in stacked configuration (you should say the available space for the antenna) with dimensions about of 120x120x6 mm with probe excitaion.
Linear or Cirsular polarization?

Hope it can be useful

What is the polarization? If you design a vertical polarization I think the collinear antenna is the best, and also easy realisation.

But you can always install them horizontally to get horizontal polarization. 8O

Yeah, g86 you are right, but consider that a collinear antenna, vertically polarized, has a quite narrow elevation angle.
rotating it by 90 ° you will have a very narrow azimuth angle and a wide elevation angle.
Usually you need wide horizontal angle ( ideal 360 ° ) for broadband transmission.

Yah.. correct

You might try a conical antenna with a low angle between the cones.

Can anybody tell me how to design PIFA for 2.4GHz ?

You might like to try the ARRL 2002 antenna handbook. I think I have seen various L-Band Antenna design in there.

Element7K

where is the ARRL 2002 antenna handbook ?
