RFID cards

Does anybody have good detail design information on RFID cards and RFID card systems?

Thanks in advance.

Most systems are patented and uses custom ICs sold by the patent holder. Some sytems are cooperative and covered by international standards and still use custom ICs. You will have to contact the IC sellers who sometimes provide poor documentation.

RFID for what frequency range?
13.xMHz?
2.4xGHz?

Look at microchip website, they do a range of rfid ic's and example circuits.

Microchip offers a broad portfolio of low-cost and high-performance passive RFID tag ICs. These devices are available with features such as advanced, high-speed anticollision algorithms for reading multiple tags in the same reader field, a unique "cloaking" capability which minimizes the detuning effect of adjacent tags, extremely low power consumption for extended read range. Contact-programmable OTP versions and Contactless-programmable/rewriteable versions are available, with memory density from 128 bits to 1Kbit of user memory.

I have some info about RFPIC devices from Microchip, including test board, its aprox. 16Mb. If your, or anyone else, is interested i can upload it, just post for it. It includes aplication notes and datasheets from microchip devices among other info.

The application notes at the Microchip web site was exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks.

yes,please upload Microchip material

No need for that, just go to microchip?

The frequency range of the RF ID is about 13.56MHz.

You can get detailed information about the RF ID card
in ISO 14443, contactless memory chip spec.

For the 13.56Mhz range, Philips and TI had a partnership a few years ago to make chips. They were mostly based off of the Philips design which was quite good. It was practical to get a 1 meter range from these. A simple reader for short range could be quite simple. These were read/write chips targeted at, amongst other things, the airline baggage tracking market. Here is a link to an article in the RFID Journal http://www.rfidjournal.com/article/view/116/1/1/, and here is a link into the Philips ICode site http://www.semiconductors.philips.co.../ic/index.html
