tline v8.0
can somebody tell me for a 8 GHz Antenna which transmission line is suitable( either wave-guide or coaxial cable ). if coaxial cable please let me know the coax cable number. also recommend any design software for the design of an antenna.
thanks
About cable or waveguide, all depends of feed line length. Cables lake Sucoflex have loss about 1.5dB/m at 10GHz. Waveguide is better for greater distance.
Here are a few links to antenna design software:

You can use many of softwares for example: Ansoft HFSS v8.0 or v9.0,CST Microwave Studio, Ensemble v8.0,ADS,...
If your application is wideband i recommend you Sinuous antenna or Planar LP antenna .If your application is naroband i recommend you Patch antenna .
Hi
Waveguide and coaxial cable have good ability in 10GHz .which should choose depending on many factors such as loss ,volume ,weight ,interface form and so on .Please select according your demand .
your question regarding which feed to use depends on a couple of factors.
a. what type of antenna
b. how much loss can you afford in your system (ie how long does your feed line need to be?)
generally
apeture or cavity - wg
planar or wire - coax
also your software question depends on which style antenna you intend on producing

I need some article or code about Sinuous antenna or Archimede's spiral antenna?
Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance.
