Symmetry plane in ie3d

Hi,
does anyone know is there a possibility to introduce a symmetry plane or magnetic/electric wall in ie3d to decrease the number of unknowns and time of simulation?

Best regards
Ania

IE3D does have a mode that includes a box, you should be able to use that to make electric wall symmetry, if you are on support, just ask IE3D support to be sure. You can use SonnetLite (free download www.sonnetsoftware.com) to do electric wall symmetry with the box sidewall, be sure to read the manual about electric wall symmetry, there is a factor of 2 that has to be included in some situations. You can invoke magnetic wall symmetry by selecting Circuit->Box->Symmetry. The magnetic wall is indicated with a dashed line down the center of the substrate. Only the half of the circuit above the dashed line is analyzed. For large circuits, this cuts analysis time by a factor of 8. If you run out of memory in SonnetLite, just read the chapter on doing more efficient analysis. A large number of circuits can be done using SonnetLite. Full disclosure, I work for Sonnet.

Hi, yes.

Check manual (or online help) -->

Appendix H. Electric, Magnetic and Periodic Walls

Here is Append H !

good luck!
