How to evaluate LO phase noise effect on Rx sensivity?
Or, how I calculate the NF of mixer contributed by LO phase noise?
The the type of modulation you use is important. AM, no worries. FM, fairly tolerant of phase noise. 128 QAM, you'd better get a PHD in phase noise reduction techniques. Try this:

Hi,
if you need a very good reference on effect of block of reicever over sensitivity, i adviseyou this book :RF DESIGN GUIDE by Peter Vizmuller.
EMI filter maybe helpful!
Hi biff44,
Why FM can tolerate phase noise more than AM? May I find it in
Communication textbook?
Thanks,

Thanks,
any phase or frequncy modulation technique affected very much by phase noise
coz the information is stored as a phase shift
but in AM , envelop based modulation it will not affect the information
khouly
That is not what I said. Let me be clearer.
AM is the most tolerant to LO phase noise.
FM is less tolerant than AM to LO phase noise.
PM or QAM are less or much less tolerant than FM to LO phase noise.
But can we look LO phase noise like a AM noise which appears at LO side band?
Than this contribute its noise while down conversion?
