hearing aid and mobile handsets

I am trying to investigate on different types of antennas that would help compatibility for mobile handsets. Are there certain antenna types that are more suited to "cancel out" radiation patterns so that in a given area(ear for this case) that the pattern is null but still have a semi-omni directional elsewhere, thanks.
