types of antennas used in mobile handsets
hi
in common mobiles used in my country they are linear dipoles to have closest pattern to isotropic so that the set can nearly in every position communicate the BTS.
besides, research is done in using a HIGH IMPEDANCE SURFACE plus the dipole to prevent radiation to head of user and strenghthen the pattern in opposite direction.
( it differs from common PEC)
tell me to send you the article if it helps.
also , i have heard that smart antennas are used in new research design . it can understand the properties of the incident wave and adapt its characteristics to best recieve it.
Hi!
Nowadays, more common antennas used for mobiles/handsets are p.a.t.c.h antennas. Designing such antennas could then be found in any antenna reference books.
Hope this helps,

Hi,
What do u mean by description and working?
Usually mobile phone antenna are designed to work isotropically i.e. radiate in all direction. Beside this property, there are other antenna design parameters like shape, size, antenna efficiency, bandwidth, etc are considered. Recently, specific absorption rate(SAR) is also another important parameter to be paid attention, which is a measure how much mobile phone radiation is absorbed inside human head.
And nowadays, there are many antenna types used for mobile phone, mostly monopole, helical, patch, PIFA, etc.
Hope, of any help!
Well,these antenna are used in mobile handsets normally,but it's hard to design,,you know there
're many differents facts to influence the antenna,and i think the matching circuit after antenna is more important,who can tell me how to design the matching circuit precisely?
Dears;
i just wanna know is there any really side effect from the mobile handset anntena to the human boday? also if we have a BTS in roof top in one building is there any risk on the people who live near to it?
