wireless digital optical link
i would like to build an wireless optical transmitter and receiver for transmit audio file. anyone have the related circuit? if possible the circuit can transmit data over 10 foot length, with high speed and low BER.
another question is how can i know the BER from the circuit designed?
thanks in advance.
Isn't this is simialr to our remote circuit.
Well bluetooh device can cover up to 10 feet...U need to transmitt and receive 2.45 GHz
kinda hard to use bluetooh for an optical link....
Review some of the remote control circuits, like in tv remotes and stuff like that.... IR is a really good otion, you can cover 10 feet with no problems.
They have optical links that will transmit 1/2 mile or so at 155 Mbps. So I guess you should be able to make it 10 feet with an audio signal. If it were me, I would sample the audio with a single bit ADC, use that digital bit to turn a laser diode on and off, shine it at the receiver and use a photodiode to detect the light pulses, and use a 1 bit DAC to turn it back into audio.
Hi chowwaileong,
You said Optical, so Bluetooth is ruled out.
What Audio file Type? do you want to transfer audio or Audio File?
For 10 Ft, you can use IR diode and TSOP1738 etc, Receiver modules.
For greater distance, you can use laser beam transmitter. I have used Laser up to 500ft in daylight, with very good audio at the receiving end.

Also used Laser with video camera reader in my Surveillance Robot. See photo at:

Let me know some more details so I can help.
docel.
^Anything is possible....
After YOU Proove it !
