how to design peakdetector for CMOS transimpedance amplifier

i have designed a differential transimpedance amplifier for optical preamplifier,
i needed designing an AGC for controlling the overload of optical power, but i don't know the theory of CMOS peak detector, can you recommend some paper about CMOS AGC and peak detector？

If you have the access to IEEE, Journal of Solid State Circuit, im very sure you will be able to get all the information on the CMOS AGC design and its working approach. There are many reserch going on in controlling the overlaod input current and well explained in certain papers in the mentioned journal. Hope you will get the ckear answer there.
