PLL harware circuitry & interface

Hi professionals,

I want to design a digital hardware control circuitry unsing 8 bit microcintroller with LCD display and keypad interface along with Analog Device PLL and VCO for locking the frequency around 6.5 GHz.

I need some materails, links, literatures or any stuff that could help me in guiding toward the implementation of this project (specially the digital control stuff).
