implementation of six-port receiver

Does anyone have idea about the advantages and drawbacks of 6-port receiver in comparison with other receiver architectures like direct conversion in particular for cellular & wlan communication terminals (GSM, EDGE, OFDM, ...)?

Comparison in terms of dynamic range, selectivity, power consumption, NF, blocking performance, linearity, ...?
