Hi hi,
When we observe a signal on the spectrum analyzer, we are able to observe and read the peak power of the signal. As most spectrum analyzers have attenuation, do we have take into account the attenuation when we read the peak value of the power.
Thanks.

Modern (digital display) spectrum analyzer know when you are turning the attenutor knob, and change the digital readout accordingly. To be sure, put a signal into the SA, hit the peak search button, program in a 10 dB increase in attenuator, and hit the peak search button again. Does it read the same as before?
Have in mind also the probe (if you are using one) attenuation. Modern SA can autodetect the probe, but older ones not.
I increased the attenuation by 10dB, there is a change in the Peak value of the signal

And there is your answer. See how easy that was!
