reference side band cadence

when simulating mixer's noise figure with pss and pnoise, what dose the parameter "Reference side-band, enter in field" stand for?

in the cadence help document, it is written "The Reference Sideband must be -1 because this is a down converter. Other possible choices are 0 and +1."

i am a little confuse about it. In pnoise arguments setup, for convenience, we use the symbol RS as reference side-band and FS as "frequency sweep range".

If I want to design a mixer with a LO=4GHz,
(1) down mixer and input=3G, output=1GHz; I set RS=-1, FS from 900M to 1.1G(just want to include 1G and read the value at 1G of the output figure)
(2) down mixer and input=5G, output=1G, I set Rs=1, FS from 900M to 1.1G
(3) up mixer and input=1G, output=5G, I set RS=-1, FS from 4.9G to 5.1G
(4) down mixer and input=9G, output=5G, I set RS=1,FS from 4.9G to 5.1G

can anybody say sth about if what i set is right or wrong? thanks!
