What's the function of limiter stage in NE564 PLL IC?
First , There's a limiter Stage , What is its function & its application ?

I do not have experiment with your PLL IC but its limiter stage must be fulfilling the same task a 'normal' circuit limiter does: its differential output voltage is clamped by the diodes hence the phase comparator is happy to work with a nearly fixed amplitude voltage (in fact it can still increase or decrease a little as the input does because of the 900 Ohm common collector resistance).

Well... the individual blocks are described in AN179 application note nicely. It is just the circuit description of the NE564 from stage by stage and I do not think that much more detailed description could be given (I think you have to do your own homework for yourself to dig more deeply into the details if these are not enough for you by studying classical textbooks), so see link here:
