How can we make FHSS work with RF transceiver?

Im looking for an RF transceiver for my thesis in Electronics Engineering with the following specs.

- Spread spectrum (FHSS)
- ISM Band ( 900Mhz )
- low data rate is ok
- IC not module


How can we make FHSS work with the tranceiver. Does it do automatically? how can we do it?

im not that good in communications.

Texas Instruments (Chipcon) CC1100 looks like it will be popular, as well as the CC1110 with a bunch of data processing stuff on-chip.

Chipcon's tranceivers are good,some times Micrel tranceivers are easier to use.

you can also check atmel & zilog,they have tranceiver chip integrated with a microcontroller.

Hi, The best chips for RF are from Analog devices ADF series I was impressed with the performance and believe me I am in communications and seen all other chips and suppliers !.
