My goal is to produce a dual band MPA via added slots. I have seen a couple of papers that have this approach.
I've started with the typical circular MPA. I then add slots to introduce the 2nd mode. The mode I am generating does not produce a broadside pattern, but a pattern with a main beam at say 45 degrees from horizon. The impedance of this second mode is very good as is the impedance of the primary mode.
My ulimate goal is to produce a dual band CP antenna. But thought it best to start with a linear style.
Does anyone have any reference or thoughts regarding higher order mode generation via slots in either circular or rectangular MPA's.
