Do I need to buy the RFID reader and the tags from the same vendor?
if the reader works at one frequency, is it able to read tags both active and passive of the same frequency?
normally you can use reader and tags from different vendors.
Just some things to keep in mind:
- operating frequency
- data rate
- encryption
Regards...
Can you give the list of vendors whose tags and readers can be separated?
as example you can use ATMEL tags with SOKYMAT reader...
...
i have experience using a different brand of reader and tag
Mif@re tag with 1ns1de reader
the tag was identified but the card data werent able to detected
i'm still figuring out the problem...
can anybody help
Mifar is using 13.56MHz as transmit frequency and the data's are encrypted.
If you have your NDA with Phillips then you should be able to decrypt the datas according the manuals, because Phillips gives you passcodes for their secured pdf with application notes and reference designs.
Summary:
Mifare cards only on Mifare readers.
Regrards..
Hi!
1. I would suggest www.sokymat.com for the transponder/tag (Sokymat doesn't provide readers).
2. www.feig.de provides excellent readers and dev/kit.
Jabidof
Hi jabidof,
Sokymat also provides reader IC's, I'm sure about it, because I got a eval board from them ;)
Regards...
but i only used the basic mifare card, the 1k not the DES card.
does all mifare card have a default encryption on the data? or just the DES card?
