Received Signal Power Measurement

Hello Everyone,
I am new in the RF Area and just wanted to know some basic things.

Is there any way to check the recived signal power level on the spectrum analyzer. I tested my nodes for the transmitt power and it is working fine, but i am not able to determine what is the power level on the recevier side. one more thing I am using the same pin for transmitting and receving.. so shall i assume that if the transmitt power level is maximum, there should not be a prob on the recevier side.

Also, i am using Micrel MICR505 Radio Chip.. which has the option for Rec. Signal Stregnth Indication.. but i have no idea about hoe to calibrate it with my micro-controller. If any one can suggest something on that or provide me with some reference Schematic and code that would be a great help.
