What are the design considerations for designing a 2.4Ghz antenna?
Can any of the guys tell what are the design considerations for designing a 2.4Ghz Antenna.
Thks in advance
Deepak
Hi
You need to decide. the angle that you wish to cover (Beam Width)
Next the range you want to get (Gain of antenna and Power handling)
Cost if you have limit (include Dimension and weight)
pl
you also need to know the substrate you'll use, the thickness and the gain
and by those parameters, you must select the type of antenna, such as helix, microstrip, ... .
feeding methods. if you are planning for an array the feed might be a crucial aspect.

Bandwidth. It should be at least 100MHz for 2.4GHz WiFi.
there are many papers you can find with keywords "2.4Ghz Antenna"
This web site will give you what you need...........

You must decide if you need high gain and - or wide angle to know what kind of antenna is the best for yours needs.
Yagi is directional little angle best for point to point where from one point you see the other.Yagi are the best up to 30 milles .Can antennas are like yagi.
Panel big angle - medium gain but good where are trees or other obstacles.
Sector big angle medium - high gain but expensive and dificult construction.
hi, i'm a 4th year student, and i want to design a compact planar folded dipole on thhe pcb.. but my problem is, i can't find the parameter for folded dipole.. can anyone help me..
