Problem with HFSS simulation time of center-driven dipole
NO ...its not terrible..... u have to set the meshing ... set the frequency steps.. set the range... then u can see it takes few hours..thn it was earlier..
I am using frequency sweep (50MHz~400MHz), solution frequency is 225MHz. step size 1MHz.
Could you please tell me how to set the frequency, and the range to short the time? What I want is to plot radiation impedance (Real and Imaginary) w.r.t frequency.
I also tried to change the mesh, both the dipole cylinders and the radiation boundary cylinder. no improvement at all.
It is NOT intuitive, you can easily get incorrect results with a minor error, and it costs more than the Taj Mahal. Other than that, it is fine.
How many layout layers in your design?
and the dimension is also important, larger dimension takes longer time.
I even take 3 days for a simulation.
maybe you can reduce your plane dimension or mesh manually.
Or, just buy more powerful computer.
you can reduce the delta S, such as 0.01 or 0.02. Also you can set the upper limit of number of mesh element.
ya reducing the delta is on one criteria..... time consument... try to reduce the meshing ..which affects the output a bit compared to delta change....
if dimension is longer and structure is symmetrical u can use mirroring optio nand simulate only one half' 'this will save the time
