Some very basic questions on antenne

- I know why we have to match the impedance of the generator and the one of the antenna. That is to done to get the most power of the generator at the antenne for radiate. Is this true?

- I know about the Dipole but I dont know why if we do not have a coaxial connector, we have to use BALUN...? So what is the role of balun? and how to feed the dipole by a balun?

- BALUN stands for BALancedUNbalanced. Dipole is balanced antenna and coaxial cable is unbalanced, so BALUN should be used to rectify that. Mind you, it is not so necessary in HF range.

what does it mean "balance" here, balance in what? and the coaxial is unbalanced in what?

An easier way is to think it in symmetric shape or not,
