Insertion Loss & Return Loss [hlp]

Please explain for me about Insertion Loss and Return Loss. Which of them is the in-out loss of a filter?

When you "insert" the filter into a thru line, the loss increases by the "insertion loss" of that filter.

Insertion Loss = S21
Return Loss = S11
