Which component can be a 2W LTE amplifier at 900Mhz?
I never design a 2W LTE signal amplifier, so I wonder which component can fulfill at 900MHz? Mainly I don't know the IMD3 or other specs should be at this power level.
1st : MW6S010N 10W 28V/Iq=125mA IMD3=-37dBc@Pout=10W
2nd: QPA2237 10W 32V/360mA IM3=-24dBc@per tone=1W
3rd: TGF3021-SM 20W IM3=-34dBc@peak -envelope output power=3W
Could you pls comment?
Thanks.

QPA2237 should work fine for your application.
At 900MHz it needs about +13dBm at the input to get +33dBm at the output (with a lot of peak-to-average margin for an LTE signal).
According to the plots, the PAE at this output power is less than 30%.
Hi, vfone,
thanks.
I simulated with QPA2237, and get a LTE 5MHz spectrum at +33dBm as following, I wonder if it is ok to pass the type approval?
And attched the simulation file, which is a sample file of AWR, and I did some change on definition.
Pls comment.
Best,
Tony Liu
PS:
Because this forum can't upload AWR simulation "*.emp" file, so I upload it as a pdf.
Pls change "LTE_UL_FDD_TX_950M_V3_QPA2237.pdf" to "LTE_UL_FDD_TX_950M_V3_QPA2237.emp" before open it in AWR.
You can upload any kind of simulation files after zipping it.
Only from the power amplifier you get about 40dB ACLR at 5MHz.
The system spec of E-UTRA ACLR1 is 30dB, but in the LTE transmitter there are more ACLR contributors, not only the PA.
With what you get now, the PA should work fine in the LTE system.
