Microwave Amplifier design ?plz help
f=5GHz ,but the problem how can I design this amplifier with a gain bigger than 15db .I can do the design for input/output matching networks ,However I can not control the gain at the same time maintain the frequency .Should I do a mismatching at the output network to make the gain higher .What should I do to design a gain bigger 15db
without affecting the centered frequency. Please any website, lecrture notes ,or advice.
all what I know are the f=5Ghz,Gain bigger 15db and S11,S22,S21,and S12.
First, check the s-parameters of the transistor that you've mentioned, have capable to deliver 15dB MSG ( max. stable gain ) at that frequency...
If yes, you may go on otherwise turn back and find another one..
If you wish 15dB Gp at 5GHz, the transistor must have at least 17-18dB MSG to take the some unwanted attenuations into account..
Try quicksmith. Input S parameter & immideately u will get MAG. Then decide which device to use. This way u will save time in selecting proper device.
I want to add that I've already known the Γopt and NF0 from the data sheet
the transistor is GaAs FET.
in ur ads simulation , use , MAX gain measurment box , so u can check the MAX gian of ur tansistor
khouly
Check this webpage. It is about increasing gain. hxxp://www.mwrf.com/Articles/ArticleID/8835/8835.html
Hope this helps.
