Microwave cancer detection need advice
The following approaches are to be used for this project:
1.Understanding the cancer development in normal tissues as well as microwave detection algorithms.
2.To determine the electrical properties of cancer tissues by which we could investigate them into microwave detection techniques.
For my project i have to design an antenna in 2 dimensional using ZELAND software. This antenna will transmit the signal into the human body to detect the cancer.I have found in my earlier studies that antenna such as microstirp, helical, dipole and monopole can be used to detect the cancer but i coudn't find which is the best antenna and what is the best freq range to design the antenna.I need advice on that as well some note for it.
Well, I applaud any microwave work that clearly is of such benefit to mankind. But...exactly what property of cancerous cells are you looking for with your microwave energy? Do cancerous cells have some difference from normal cells that you are trying to see, such as different dielectric, loss, reflection characteristics? Possibly a shift in resonance frequency (such as water absorption at 2.45 GHz)? Unless you can differentiate cancer from normal cells, I do not see how microwaves can help you.
Hi Guys,
I found this paper, maybe can help you
