IP3 of a filter [hlp]
How we can determine the IP3 (and IP2) of a filter?
For Passive filter there is no IP3.
For chain calculation filter calculated as attenuator.
everything has an IP3, even a coaxial connector. Usually it is high enough to not be a problem, but not always. You typically figure out the IP3 by a high power measurement.
Hi,
Intermodulation products is only present in a nonlinear network.
Goodluck...
Gawd, there are some ill informed posters on this board!

Can you provide more information than product promotional link.
Does anybody can upload a doc about their Two-Tone Approach for TOI simulation? specially for linear device. ADS , HFSS and Ansoft format should be fine.
Thanks
We'll if it's a linear device (linear model) you WON'T get any IMD. As biff44 said, if you want to know IP3 of a passive device you must measure it. Software is useless for this unless you have a non-linear model. I know of no "diode" models for metallic interconnects of coax cables. There are some non-linear models for ferrite cores but this is typically for DC and low frequency.
