doubt regarding testing os oscillator on SNA

hi friends
I have designed an oscillator
I want to test it. I currently have no access to spectrum analyzer.
can i test it on scalar network analyzer?
In SNA ,reference signal from source as well as signal from device whose parameters are to be measured are given as input.
but my oscillator itself is signal generator & device to be tested.
so this means i can not give reference signal to SNA & it will not give me correct result.
Am i right?
please clear my doubt.
