hp8590b

Does anyone know if and how an external tracking generator can be used together with an HP 8590B Spectrum Analyzer to measure frequency response of a circuit? I believe the Spectrum Analyzer must have an IF output (which the 8590B doesn't have). If this can't be done with the 8590B, which HP SA would you recommend?

I'm also considering buying the 010 Tracking Generator option for the 8590B (if i can find one).
