Can i tranmitt two signals wiht different frequencies on the same antenna at the same time , given that the antenna is not a fractal antenna.

regrads

Hi Nimer,

I think it might be possible in Dual band Dual Polarized Antenna.

yes but if the antennal has a single polarization , is it possible to transimt two signals on two frequencies at the same time even though ther frequencies are different.

regards

I think its not possible. we'll wait for Further replies.

yes, why not?. connect a diplexer to the antenna port and the other two ports to the signal generators at f1 and f2.

You can transmit a thousand signals on a single antenna at the same time!

An obvious example is OFDM, which transmits many independent carriers simultaneously.

The only concern would be if were anywhere near the power rating of the antenna, where voltage arcing could happen.

Here may be two cases. First, you have the theoretical interest (for example, when you are student). Then the answer is yes, you can transmit two or more signals with one antenna. In the second case (when you are practical engineer) you need to carefully consider antenna parameters and do not exceed some key parameters limits like power, frequency, impedance and so on. Transmitting two high level signals with poor electrical contact in antenna circuit may result in strong RFI. Moreover, nearby objects may lead to reradiation and this is another problem.
