impedance matching calculations
For line impedance you need to adjust the Tranmitter output impedace with Receiver input impedane for a proper signal transmission.you can add series or parallel termination to line to accomplish this.
For impedance control board u need to adjust the stackup of board by changing the thickness the prepeg, core and tracewidth. You can use the Hyperlinx tool for line simulation. This is the tool which is used for line and board simulation.
Are there any standard calculations to calculate the trackwidth, thickness, length and dielectric constant to matched the required impedance ?
Dear yashiro32,
(I presume that we are talking about RF PCBs), This said, there are definetly some 'standard' formulaes but then their "standardness" is quite relative, i.e, the formulas include/exclude few approximations which are directly application specific. If your application demands stringent performance, you can include/exclude them as appropriate.
You can easily find your application specific formulae from any book dealing on strip and microstrip designs. I shall soon uplink some shortly, or you can look in 'Attachments'.
