what is best in superheterodyne?

what is best in superheterodyne
correct me if i.m wrong if i build receiver
for certain frequency and make ban pass filter then rf
amp then another stage rf amp for the same frequency
then detection is the sensitivity of this unit
will be similar to superheterodyne sets or less
or more and any body seen this idea before
i attend to make it in transreceiver it will be 2
unit in the same frequncy 4.4 am but sure i need to make agood
receiver unit is trf receiver with this way good or i have to use
superheterodyne receiver?

what is wrong trf rceiver depend on rf amp then detection then audio amp
i attend to build receiver for 4.4 mh for cb band and i want to avoid superheterodyne and increase the sensitivity of the unit
is this strange ?
