Hi all,
some packets in MPEG Transport Stream contain a 42 bit called program clock reference which is so called PCR.
I am working on PCR-restamping. I wonder if the formula announced in iso 13818-1 Standard which states:
pcr_value = pcr_base*300 + pcr_extension
is only used in decoder or it is also used in encoder to encode the 42 bit pcr value. some say that the upper 33 bits of the 42 bit pcr value is actually the pcr_base part and the 9 lower bits are pcr_extension. and the formula is only used in the decoder to produce to time stamp. is it true? or the actual formula is implemented to produce the pcr field?
