filters for microwave
i hope this is the useful forum to get the information to clarify my doubt
what are the different filters applicable for L -BAND,C-BAND.
i want to know the different filters suitable,
any one ans plz
thank you
Your question is not quite clear.... I assume you want to know what topologies that are usuable for L and C band.
For L you can get away with both lumped (descrete) and distributed (stripline) but at C-band you are better off using stripline type. You can add a multi-turn variable capacitor to tune. A cheaper way would be to add a small wire at the end of the strip and cut it shorter and shorter thus tune the circuit.
There are many many good filter desing books out there, but try "HF Filter Design and Computer Simulation" By Randall W Rhea ISBN 1-884932-25-8
This one is pretty basic and good for a start. This book is also supplied as help for designing filters with the Genesys software.

thank you for reply
i want to design a filter for 4.4-5 ghz what type of filter is suitable for that i want to know means whether can i use cavity filter or microstrip filter if suggested any what books to follow?
thank you
In general for most of applications u-strip filters are suitable for L and C bands.
If you are looking for ?brick? rejections, 90dB or more, you need to use cavity filters.
Hi,
do you want to design a bandpass filter for 4.4 - 5 ghz?
Thanks
yes i wnt to design a filter for4.4-5ghz ,
but i want to design it with equtions not with simulation only if you have design equtions for round rod combline filter
plz post here plz
thank you!
