hi

i want to know whats the difference between a bandpass or a bandstop filter and a resonator? or they are different names of same thing?

regards

A resonator is a circuitry which is able to exhibit a resonance effect.
This resonator can be built either passive or active.
The resonator circuitry can be used for either bandpass or bandstop filtering purposes - depending on its position within the whole circuit.

Resonator can be stand alone device or it can be a part of the filter. Coupled resonators can form a good filter.
