vswr return loss
The output return loss (S22 or S33 or S44) or VSWR of the Coaxial power divider (2way or 3 way or 4way) is less than 10dB. it is -6dB or -5dB or some times it is -3dB.
But S11 (2way, 3way, 4way) is very good and it is more than -20dB
why it is like that? Pl. explain me...........
But the wilkinson power divider has good return loss at output also....
Said the John Emdall to Buckaroo Bonzai: it is a very bad design
hi,
i didn't understand your words properly.........
Is it loseless? Port 1 and 2, 3, 4 are isolated? Is it simmetrical?
hi,
yes it is symmetrical, and No isolation resistors are used. this is coaxial power divider, right now i am testing 4way power divider.
it consists of N-sections (each having quarter wavelength).
This means that port 1 or the sum port is matched but
the divider output ports are mismatched badly.
Output ports vswr is high.
hi,
Is it that way for such power divider?
In order to help you, archive your project files (plots, drawings, etc) with WinRAR and post here.
Microwave Engineering by David M. Pozar (Author) Has a discussion of various splitters. I find the contrasts between the various types helpful. In particular he discusses why one has low reflections on all ports and why others do not.
Hi,
Sum port return loss does tend to be better than output port return loss, but only by a few dB.
You must use an isolation reistor to achieve a good match on all ports.
